Rhonda Jankovic Poetry Award
by Katherine Seppings
My poem ‘Family Violence’ was Highly Commended in the inaugural Rhonda Jankovic Poetry Award on social justice.
Producer and host of two radio programs on Melbourne’s 3CR – ‘Spoken Word’ (poetry) and ‘SUWA’ (current affairs) – Rhonda was a staunch advocate for emerging poets and justice for those disadvantaged in society.
Highly acclaimed poets Judith Rodriguez and Tom Shapcott presented the awards at the Frankston Library.
Santo Cazzati, 3CR Broadcaster, will have a special episode of ‘Spoken Word’ on the Rhonda Jankovic Poetry Award, which will feature the winning poems, including mine.
Congratulations!
Congratulations Katherine!! And bravo for your ongoing commitment to social justice, and things which really matter. XxX Eliza
