Fire on the Mountain by Katherine E Seppings
Castlemaine Word Mine poets will be holding an ekphrastic exhibition – poetry inspired by art – during the Castlemaine State Festival 2013.
Poets Ann de Hugard, Katherine Seppings, Nola Firth, Rob Wallis, Ross Donlon, Susan Flanagan and Tru Dowling will read their featured poems.
John Flaus will open the exhibition at 12.30pm Sun 17 March in the Word Mine room at the Anglican Church Hall, Cnr Kennedy and Forest Sts, Castlemaine.
The ‘Pictures & Poems’ exhibition will be open from 16 to 23 March, 10am-4pm.
My poems ‘Attempt’, ‘My Father’s Voice’ and ‘Peter Wallace’ each received a Commendation in the Castlemaine Poetry Prize 2012.
Elliot Midland Newspapers, Mount Alexander Shire, and Soldiers and Scholar Bookshop sponsored the prize, judged by award-winning Castlemaine poet Ross Donlon. My Commended poems will be published in the Castlemaine Mail.

I took these photographs to show the calming ritual at the beginning of an Over The Moon Dance Class. This Centering practice prepares the dancers for the mind body connection and focus that is integral to yoga and creative dance.
